Picture Day at School

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Angelo had his first school pictures taken today.  And since I'm so far behind on this blog... Here they are!

Quality doesn't scan well!
So, our little cutie did pretty good in his first school pictures.  I can't believe he actually smiled for a stranger trying to take his picture.  Alyssa (our photographer and friend) tries to get him to smile all the time and he usually only performs for candy! LOL

Nothing like a G-pa

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Rudy is gone again this week so I called in the reinforcements.  With Angelo being sick and Lola starting to get this crud going around, mommy is going crazy.  My mom and dad came over this afternoon/evening to help with the kiddos.  My dad gave Lola a bottle and she just fell asleep in his arms.

Sick Day

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Angelo woke up with fever this morning so I decided to keep him home from school.  He's still on antibiotics from the ear infection, but the fever just comes and goes.  His nanni (grandma Carol) came over and took him for the day.  I told her to take it easy on him since he has a fever... I'm sure that won't happen!  He plays hard when he's with Nanni!

Busted Lens

Monday, February 1, 2010

I want to go ahead and apologize now for the next two months of picture quality.  I pulled my camera out of the car to take a picture and my camera lens is in pieces!!!  So sad!  Even though it was tucked in it's case, I guess something heavy must have smashed it.  Thank goodness I bought the insurance on my camera.  They said it would take 4-6 weeks before I get it back... So, now I have to go back to my old Sony camera that takes less than fabulous pictures. (and my iphone camera).  Oh well, hopefully I will get a whole new camera back.  When I bought the insurance the guy said that I could literally RUN OVER the camera right before the warranty expired and I would get a new camera.  Totally worth the money to buy the insurance.  Especially with two little kids!

The month of LOVE

Monday, February 1, 2010

February is all about Valentine's Day the first half of the month for me.  Everything should be pink and red with lots of flowers around.  If only I could get my husband to buy into this thinking...  I can't tell you the last time he bought me flowers for any occassion... or for no occassion... hint hint.

Here is a look at some of our Valentine pictures we took with Alyssa Maisano.  She is a great photographer!  Very resonable priced (she would have to be in order for me to get so many pictures taken of my kiddos!)  Check out her blog.  http://photographybyalyssamaisano.blogspot.com/  Tell her I sent you!
We have some really good individual shots, but fewer together shots!  Can't get them both to look and smile at the same time!

More pics to come!

Nothing like 9 months!

Saturday, January 30, 2010

Today Lola is 9 months old.  Lola is more precious today that she was yesterday if that's possible.  My little girl is growing up.  Where did these past 9 months go???  I need to slow down and enjoy her more.  Dress her up more and take lots more pictures! LOL (if at all possible!)

These are the things I know about Miss Lola to date:
1.  She is ever changing.  She grows overnight.  She will wake up in the morning and look different to me.
2.  We've had some issues this month with her diapers... Let's just say, we've been UNpleasantly surprised on multiple occassions when we've gone up to get her from a nap or in the morning and there is an extra surprise plastered all over her crib... NOT FUN!  We had to move her up to size 4 diapers... (Angelo wears a 5!).
3.  She weighs 18 lbs. now.  Big girl.
4.  She is still fascinated by Angelo.  She wants to be everywhere he is and she mimicks him.
5.  She growls.  Usually in response to her brother.  Hilarious
6.  She says Mama, Dada, and Bu ba.
7.  She will raise her hand to wave bye bye and hi, but will not say bye bye or hi yet.
8.  Is not interested in reading books.  More interested in eating them.
9.  She is ticklish all over.  and her belly laugh is the cutest thing I've ever heard.

I'm so lucky that God had entrusted this precious gift to me to raise and take care of on a daily basis.

My little trooper...

Saturday, January 30, 2010

I cannot get used to typing 2010 yet!!!  I keep putting 2009....

So, my little trooper was fever free this morning so I took advantage and dressed up the kiddos for a quick valentine mini session!  It was awesome because it only lasted 30 minutes and that's about all my kids can take!

Before we left...
Whose the scary guy in the beard??

An Apple a Day Does NOT keep the Dr. away...

Friday, January 29, 2010

My poor little boy was sick today so we headed over to see Dr. Shori.  It never fails that since we are supposed to take pictures in the morning that my child will get sick.  So, 2 hours and 2 ear infections later... we are headed home for some much needed rest for Angelo.  I need this kid to start feeling well by tomorrow so we can still take some Valentine pictures!!  Bring on the antibiotics!

Once we were home, Lola decided to help me do the dishes...

PJ Day

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Today was PJ day at Angelo's school.  So my little guy helped me pick out his outfit for the day.  Had to have a robe and despite the fact that Angelo wanted to wear rain boots to school, we opted for his Uggs.

Reading Material

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

I walked around the corner to see Angelo in his bounce house reading some of Rudy's work magazines.  I know he was looking for any kind of machine.  This is apparently the best place to get his reading done since Lola can't get in the bounce house on her own and grab his magazine out of his hand.  LOL

Happy Birthday Dad!

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Today is my dad's 65th birthday!  I think he is "officially" old... at least he can pass for a senior citizen at most restaurants now!  Get that 10% discount now at Kohl's! haha

Angelo and I went over to his house after school today to surprise him with cake, ice cream, balloons and presents.  Of course, Angelo loves to blow out the candles (everyday is a party when you are 2... so you should be able to blow out candles whenever!)  We sang at least three times!  He colored my dad a dump truck picture for the fridge.  Unfortunately, I had to get going because Carol was home with Lola and she needed to leave.

I went to supper club tonight with the girls.  I'm not sure why we never bring a camera to this event, especially this one because it hasn't happened in like 5 months!  We went to Ocean Prime in Dallas.  I was a little worried because it got a bad review, but I thought it was great.  It's a really cool place to go to as well.   The outside bar is super cool.

Bye Bye

Monday, January 25, 2010

Lola will raise her hand when you say, "Bye Bye" now.  She won't say the words, but she's trying for the motion!
Sunday, January 24, 2010

We headed to church this morning to the early service (9am).  This time when we dropped off Lola, 3 of my friends from high school were in there to watch her so I felt VERY secure leaving her.  Of course Angelo always has a great time, so no worries there!

We headed to Uncle Oscar's after church for Guy's birthday.  I wish I had gotten a pic of his cake because it was a pretty cool airplane.  It's always nice to hang out with family for the afternoon.  But naptime beckons, so we have to cut the afternoon short.  Happy 21st Birthday Guy!  I'm sure you will get everything you want! lol

Workin' Man

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Rudy took Angelo to work with him this morning.  He loves to go see all the machines.  He knows all of them by name and can even tell you some types.  We were driving the other day and he told me, "That's a CASE backhoe mommy.  It's junk!"  Wonder where he learned that...

Thumbs Up!
Daddy put me to "wuk"
Notice it's a john deere and he has on his JD boots... style.

Same thing, Different day

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Is it just me or does everyday seem to be like Groundhog Day.  I feel like we do the same stuff over and over again!  This is Angelo's new way of getting anything on the countertops.  He just drags his chair up to see what's going on.

Loves her some Cheerios! (cheerios, snot and peas..yum!)

Introducing Izzy!

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

My brother brought home a new dog to my parents house last night.  A sweet little 7 week old, boston terrier puppy, named Izzy.  Izzy came over to play with the kids tonight.  She's a live wire for about 30-45 min. then falls asleep.  So precious!  But I don't miss having a puppy in the house!  I've got two kids and a husband to clean up after... don't need anything else!  But we can always go visit Izzy!  (and Roxanne is always welcome to come over... she's potty trained!)
Izzy
This is how she likes to sleep.  Curled up in your arms.
She got a ride from Lola...
Love his belly laughs

Despite that it looks like we are torturing her... wanted to see her 2 front teeth with the HUGE gap!
Angelo is making sure Izzy doesn't take his toys
Izzy found a place to get away from the crazy kids and sleep!
They wore her out!  Too bad it wasn't the other way around...

It's a Gymboree Day!

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

I used to take Angelo to Gymboree weekly, without fail since he was 6 months old.  All that stopped pretty much when Lola was born.  Well, don't tell my husband but I've been paying for Gymboree and not going.  I finally feel like I'm at a place that I can now take Miss Lola.  I rushed to drop off Angelo so Lola and I can make our new Tuesday, 9:15 Gymboree class.  Not sure how much she gets out of it yet, but she's just so active.  At least she can crawl around in a safe fun environment.  She doesn't much like circle time.  But really enjoyed bubbles.  How bad am I that I don't think Lola has ever seen bubbles before???  I'm going to have to rush out and buy some and let my kids enjoy the simple pleasure of blowing bubbles outside!  It's like I did all these things for Angelo, but not Lola.  I just try to get through the day.  I need to change my thoughts on this and find more creative things for both of them to experience.  Ideas always welcome!

ZOO to the RESCUE!

Monday, January 18, 2010

I can't believe how lucky I am to have lots of people who love to take my kids places and spend time with them!  Today was MLK day, so Kiki and She She to the RESCUE!  I met Kristal "half way" (not really, I think she had to come much farther) and switched cars with her so her and my Aunt Sheila could play with the kiddos.  Leaving mommy some more alone time!  (That's really all I ever want! LOL)  They took them to the ZOO!  Of course, Angelo LOVES all the animals.  He constantly tells me to watch out because there is a _______ (insert animal) behind me.  From the report I got, he had a great time seeing all the animals.  Even the gorilla was right up beside the glass and Angelo wasn't even scared to go up to it.. (but he is afraid of the fake one at Rainforest cafe... ), he got the lion to ROAR and got to feed the fish and the birds.  The only time he started to cry was when he thought they weren't going to take him on the merry go round! LOL  Like they would deny him that pleasure in life!  So blessed to have family that live close.  We all love it when they come to visit! (mommy gets a break from entertaining and they get to see the sheer joy on my kids faces when they come over).  I hope they read this and realize how thankful I am to have them in my life.

Go Cowboys!

Saturday, January 9, 2010

This is out of order in my blog... which really drives me crazy, but I will continue...We went to the Dallas Cowboys playoff game with Ryan and Diana.  For just grabbing seats last night online, they were GREAT!  Thank goodness the stadium is enclosed.  It is freezing outside!  I can't imagine how the crazy fans go to those football games up north that are outside.  That's DEDICATION right there!  The game was AWESOME and we WON!

We did have a few ... issues...
1.  For food Rudy bought fruit to eat.  Just an odd thing to eat at a football game... grapes.
2.  Ryan spilled BBQ sauce on the seat in front of him (without knowing)... but when the guy in front of us actually sat in his seat... this happened... I still laugh everytime I see the picture.

3.  The lady directly in front of me got too drunk and ended up PUKING in her seat... TWICE!  Hello, disgusting.  Learn to drink in moderation.  You think she would have figured that out by now.  They finally left.  But overall, GOOD TIMES! LOL

Nursery Bound

Sunday, January 17, 2010

I realize that Lola is almost 9 months old and has never been in the church nursery.  I'm that crazy freak mom that is afraid some hard core church goers are going to bring their kids to church while they are sick.  Case in point... 3 times I've taken Angelo to the church nursery, 3 times he ended up with a fever the same day.  So, it's a big struggle for me.  I'd rather just keep Lola with me in the cry room.  Well, Lola is getting too active for the cry room.  It just won't cut it anymore.  I sucked it up and put on my big girl panties and left Lola in (I'm sure) capable hands.  I was busting out as soon as possible to go get my baby girl.  I found her happy as can be crawling and playing with some toys (please let them be clean!).  So, all went well.  No major meltdowns for either of us! Yay!

Things have a way of working out for all...

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I conned my mom into taking BOTH kids to see their great grandparents today so I could have a break!  Worked out for all!  They got to spend time together and mommy got a pedicure!!  Kristal, Taylor and Sheila ended up with both kids at Chuck E. Cheese.  That's all Angelo ever says when he sees a C E C commercial, "Mommy!  I go Chuck E. Cheese with Kwistal and She She!"  So, his wishes finally came true!  I did have to warn Kristal about the hiding under the table, deathly afraid of Chuck E. Cheese drama that was bound to happen... and apparently Angelo did not disappoint.  Poor baby!  No Disneyworld for us anytime soon yet!  I have no pics of the day, but they did bring home this, which I thought was pretty cute.

The Red Eyed Tree Frog

Wednesday, January 13, 2010
I decided it might be time to venture out once again to the Rainforest Cafe. Our first experience there wasn't optimal. Well, the second one wasn't either! Angelo is afraid of the crocodile in the front of the store to start. Won't go near the thing. We get to our table and all the animals start "going off" and that freaked him out. Well, the kicker is that a man dressed up like a big red eyed tree frog started walking around. This pretty much pushed him over the edge. He was so scared of the tree frog that everytime he even got NEAR our table, my little tough guy was hiding under the table. NIGHTMARE for him... pretty funny for me! LOL He never took his eyes off the tree frog. He knew where he was AT ALL TIMES! Angelo pretty much tells me he's ready to leave. So, we leave. We get home and he tells me, "Mommy, I want to go back to the Rainforest cafe". I told him, "But you were scared. Maybe we'll go back when you aren't scared." He agreed that he was scared, but he still wants to go back. It'll be awhile!!!
The fish are about the only thing Angelo does like about this place!
Guess who he just spotted!  The dreaded TREE FROG!

Even Lola isn't too sure about this place.
This is as close as he would get to the fake tree frog that stays out front.
He's pointing to the crocodile... won't go any closer!

New Friends

Monday, January 11, 2010

We are working our way up to joining the mom's league and getting involved with their playgroups.  A friend of ours is already involved so she invited us to tag along and meet up with them at Jump Zone for a little playdate.  Of course Angelo loves this place so he was all over it.  And it worked out pretty well for Lola too.  She got to crawl around and people watch.  Looks like we may take the plunge and join!

Tonight we had another playdate with a neighbor who has twin 2 1/2 year old boys and also a 16 mo. old little girl.  They had us over to play in their playroom, which is always nice to A.  have the mess at someone's elses house (lol just kidding) and B. to let Angelo play with different fun toys and C. to meet new neighbors and friends! We've lived here since April and this is really the first time we've played/met anyone!  We are bad!  She was such a great host so we will have to return the favor soon!

Double Trouble

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Not sure why I didn't think of this sooner.  I can get two kids clean for the price of one!  And they LOVE it!  Lola gets to play with all the toys and splash along with her big brother.  I think Angelo gets the raw end of this deal though.  He can't stretch out anymore!  Lola's tub takes up so much space!
He thought he needed to get in Lola's tub

Milk Mustache

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Someone's been getting into daddy's milkshake again!

Life's Lessons

Saturday, January 9, 2010

This is the lesson we learned today.  (more from daddy than from mommy... since mommy let him do it!)  Such a pretty shade of lipstick.  I think it's his color.

MAKE UP is for GIRLS! lol

GNO

Friday, January 8, 2010

Rudy is "on a jet plane" (can you hear the music in your head like I can when I say that?? Armageddon movie anyone???)... bound for home... So, since he's not here and I already have a babysitter lined up... we did a little impromptu GNO (girls night out)!  I met two of my good friends tonight for dinner and drinks.  It has been a long time since I've gone out (sans kiddos) on a Friday night with my girlfriends!  So nice and refreshing!  We will have to do this again!

Rudy did show up mid way through dinner but decided not to eat with us but to go down the street and have sushi instead (fine with me... sushi isn't my fav!).

It's the Little Things...

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Ok, I'm not so happy with Keller ISD right now...  They cancelled school today because of bad weather... WHAT??? I mean, it's cold, but it's not icy!  So, since Keller is closed... so is Angelo's school.  GREAT.  Another day of being couped up in the house!  Angelo decided to build a train with their chairs.  We have and engine and a caboose.  Choo Choo!  It's the little things that are so entertaining.

A Helping Hand

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

The kids have to find a way to entertain themselves in all this cold weather!!!  We busted out the walker today to see how Miss Lola would like it.  Since her legs are too short to push herself, she got some help from Big Bro.

Still going strong....

Sunday, January 3, 2010

The novelty has not worn off yet!
We had to make a "crash pad" at the bottom of the slide!
Just waiting for mommy to get in...

Little Red Raiders

Saturday, January 2, 2010

The kids dressed the part today to cheer on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Bowl game.  Lola got her outfit from pa pa (picked it out all by himself) for a Christmas present.  Very fitting for today!
