New Pictures

Wednesday, November 18th

I've been meaning to put up some of the kiddos new pics.  Alyssa Maisano took these pics and she did a FABULOUS job.  I just can't stop staring at them!  My kids are so precious!  I know I'm a little biased, but I'm sure you'll agree!  Check them out!

37 days until Christmas

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

I can't believe that there are only 37 days left until Christmas... I have got to get on the ball.  As much as I love the rush of frantically trying to find the perfect present for that certain someone at the last possible minute... I'm not doing that this year.  I want to be DONE way before December 24th!  So, gotta start making my lists and checking them twice!  Angelo and I did start decorating the tree that has been up in our house for a few days.  But I'm thinking I want to move it to a different location... I better do that quick before it gets too hard to do!  So, guess I better take advantage of my husband while he's in town..."OH RUUUUUUUDY!! I have a task for you!!!" He'll love this!

Dirt and Juice

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Last night was a bad night for Angelo.  I wasn't sure at the time what was going on.  Before I went to bed at 11pm, he had already woken up 4 times crying for mommy.  Rudy came home from Rob's and it just continued from there.  I asked him what was wrong and he just said his ear hurt.  Well, at 2:30am, Rudy finally just brought him down to our bed.  No help.  He just wimpered for another hour and a half.  I took his temperature, but no fever.  I gave him some antibiotics that he had left over from his last ear infection and then back to our bed.  Finally he told me 'crib'.  So back upstairs we went.  I think the last time we talked to him was around 5:30am.  After that he finally fell asleep and so did mommy and daddy!

When we finally all got up around 10 (Lola was up way before, but this mommy didn't hear her!), I asked Angelo if he remembered what was wrong and he told me, "Ya, I got dirt and juice in my ear!"  So, I finally look into his ear and he's kinda right.  The outside was a little crusty, (the dirt) and the inside was wet with drainage, (the juice).  I thought it was pretty funny.  He actually was telling me what was wrong in his own 2 year old language.  Gotta love these kids!

We ended up going to breakfast at Central Market and meeting Rocco up there to play.  Those boys played HARD for a good hour and a half.  They have the best time with each other.  They get so excited!  Precious!

Happy Birthday Brooke!

Saturday, November 14, 2009

I'm in Christmas mode totally over here.  My neighborhood has spurred me on.  There are people here who already have their trees up and their lights on!  I guess we are just going to by-pass Thanksgiving!  Not really, but my house will be decked out in the Christmas spirit for Thanksgiving.  I've been searching for a tree for the living room.  I've been going back and forth on what size to buy.  Well, I saw one today at Hobby Lobby, 50% off, so I just went ahead and bought it... along with a few other Christmas items... mainly this adorable Santa that is as big as Angelo.

So, after shopping, Angelo had Brooke's 3rd b-day party to attend.  We headed over there after nap for some playtime and cake of course!  Angelo's favorite thing!  We got Brooke the cutest little tutu, wings, shirts, and shoes so she can play dress up like every little girl should!

We were supposed to go over to Rob and Shannon's to watch the Tech game, but the kiddos were pretty much worn out, so this mama and her babies just went home!  Mimi came over to help and once the kids were in bed, we busted out the other tree (not the one I just bought.. but the old one)... Yes, we have multiple trees this year!  Can't wait!  So, I'm just in the process of pulling everything out of the attic to see what we have and what we need.  I've realized, we need a lot.  Not sure we will be getting everything this year.  Might have to wait until after Christmas when everything goes on SALE!!!  But we for sure will have the basics! Trees... check

Surprise!

Thursday, November 11, 2009

Today was a super busy day for me.  I went to the World Trade Center with my mom and Twila on a mission to find a "cheap" christmas tree... well, 6 hours later, I left with no tree and very confused!  I thought market was supposed to be half off... I couldn't find a tree I wanted, plus they were super expensive.  I missed the boat.  Apparently I needed to have gone like in July... now I know why they say, "Christmas in July!"  Oh well, I'll keep looking...

Tonight mommy and daddy got to go to Rudy's aunt's 60th surprise b- day party.  It was a really fun night.  We got to dress up and go once again, just down the street to Mandy and Frank's house.  They had it catered, a photographer was there, open bar, and an awesome cake that looked like a wedding cake.  It was probably as tall as me!  LOL  I didn't take my camera unfortunately, but maybe Mandy will give me a copy of us from the photographer...

Real Birthday

Wednesday, November 11

We had dinner tonight with Dominic to celebrate his real 4th birthday party.  Just a few family members over to their house for some steak sandwiches.  Earlier in the day, we had gone to The Cakery in Southlake for some monster cookies... one for Angelo, one for Dominic.  Happy Birthday Dom!

Preview of Pics to come!!!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Our photographer teased us with a few pics of the kids today.  I'm in love with my children all over again.  If I could I would have their pictures professionally taken once a month!  I just love it!  Enjoy!  Can't wait for all of them!

Park with the Maisano Boys

Monday, November 9, 2008

We met Alyssa and her 3 boys up at Bear Creek Park today for some play time outside in the fabulous fall weather! Alyssa is the prepared mom... the one that comes with drinks, snacks, ziplock bags for a "nature walk"... I am that other mom... The one that just shows up and forgets all those things!  Hey, I did remember my kids though.  That's a positive!  Thank goodness for Alyssa and her snacks or Angelo would have been one mad kid!  I just need to leave snacks in my car at all times!  Oh well, no harm no foul.  Can't wait to do it again!

Family Day

Sunday, November 8

We actually got ourselves up and ready in time for church.  Angelo likes to go into his sunday school and we just keep Lola with us.  I just can't bring myself to take her into the nursery. There are germs in there! LOL

Afterwards, we went to a new restuarant today, Cowboy Chow, right next to twisted root (our fav).  It's a little more upscale than twisted root, so we'll probaby not go back with the kiddos!  But it was good.  We'll go back sans kids...

Dominic's b- day party

Saturday, November 7, 2009

Dominic's 4th birthday party was today.  We headed over there at 11.  I love that we live so close to them!  It's so nice to just to jump in the car and be there!  We all had a great time.  Mommy didn't do the slide today.  I thought I'd let the kids enjoy instead of me! lol  It was so fun last night!  Angelo was a trooper, just hung in there playing ALL DAY.  I finally had to MAKE him leave to go take a nap.

While he was napping, my mom, Kristal, Sheila, Lola and I all went to the Southlake craft fair.  I'm really into these craft fairs for some reason this year.  I like going and seeing anything new that's cute.  I'm obsessed with this one lady that makes clothes for girls.  I've bought quite a few outfits for Lola from her!  One of the outfits she wore for her pics was from this lady!  Anyways, we came back home in time for them to visit with Angelo.  I'm not sure what happened, but he got an impromptu bath from Aunt Sheila at the kitchen sink!

Going to "Wuk"

Thursday, November 5, 2009
I got this shirt in the mail for Angelo. I think it's hilarious. He's going to "wuk" as he calls it...

Pre Party

Friday, November 6, 2009

We came home from visiting McKenna at the park and I ran upstairs to put Lola down for her nap and when I came back downstairs this is what I found... REALLY?  He thought it was funny.

Dominic's 4th birthday party is tomorrow, but we got to enjoy a little pre party over there tonight.  Mandy had the slide delivered tonight so we could enjoy a day early.  I took Angelo down around 6 and we all played on the slide for a good hour at least.  It was dark by the time we left and this mama was worn out!  It was a workout going up the ladder over and over!  We had a great time.  It's so fun to see and hear Angelo "belly" laugh.  It just melts my heart and makes me laugh too!  Ahhh, the joys of a child.

The Last Supper

Sunday, November 1, 2009

My friend Andrea is leaving me this week.  She's been my friend since 5th grade... 10 years old.  Most people don't have friends that stay in their lives that long.  I'm just lucky.  I have lots of friends like that.  This dinner was supposed to happen two weeks ago (the weekend the pigs invaded the house).  But like everything else that weekend, this was rescheduled for today.  How I didn't get any pictures I have no idea... well, actually I do.  I made Rudy leave and take the kids with him so I could spend some quality time with my friends and my camera was in the car.  Her husband lives in California so she is finally going to be like a real married couple and live together! ha  It's about time.  We knew this was coming for a long time.  I'm just going to pretend that she still lives in Dallas and she's just busy with work.  I know she'll be back often (on my birthday to be exact!) and we can go visit anytime (I'm already thinking spring break!).  But I will miss her and I hope she hurries back home.  2 years max! Love you Andrea!

Happy Halloween

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Today was a long one!  We started out with pics of the kids (which had been rescheduled due to swine flu invading the Renda house).  So, we dragged the kids and all our gear up to the trains in Grapevine and then over to the botanical gardens.  Mandy and I have been working HARD to get the perfect outfits!  I think we did a pretty awesome job.  A few meltdowns did happen (mainly by Angelo... still got that ear infection), but I think Alyssa was able to get some great shots!  Can't wait to see them!  Lola did awesome too!  She's the perfect age because she can't run away or say no!  She's just a happy baby who had a nap!  Got home just in time for more naps (even mommy) and then it was off to trick or treat.

My little Dinosaur went trick or treating tonight with Po (AKA Dominic) and a sweet little carebear (AKA Madison).  His little bumble bee sister only made it to pictures in the front yard.  She passed out early and then wanted to help Kiki and Tay Tay pass out candy!

The daddy's dutifully pulling the wagons

Angelo was a seasoned pro at trick or treating.  He had it down after the first house.  He would ride in the wagon eating a sucker then when we got to the next house he would get out of the wagon, grab his pumpkin bucket, hand me his sucker then run up to the door just in time to yell, "Trick or Treat!".  Then he would come back and sit in the wagon, get his sucker and continue on.  We even had to pull him out of a few houses.  He thought they were inviting him in I guess!  Going around in this neighborhood is awesome.  We went half way then stopped at Mandy and Frank's house to warm up.  Then got back to our house and did the same thing.  I've noticed a lot of our neighbors get around on golf carts.  Maybe I'll ask Santa for a golf cart this year.  I'm pretty sure I've been good.

6 months and STUNNING

Friday, October 30, 2009

Lola is 6 months old today!!! I can't believe.  This year is almost halfway over??!!  Where did the time go?  We go to her 6 month check up on Tuesday.

But here are the new things I've discovered about Lola.

1.  She still doesn't sleep through the night!  From night to night we NEVER know what to expect.  Most nights she goes to bed at 7:30p and gets up around 4 (on good nights).
2.  Lola has learned how to sit up this past month.  She is just the cutest thing ever now.  Just sitting there.
3.  She still only has two teeth.
4.  She grabs everything and puts it directly into her mouth.
5.  She loves to be read to... even though this doesn't happen as often as I'd like... note to self to do better!
6.  She is starting solid foods now.  Likes cereal enough and peas.  Isn't too fond of peas and carrots yet.
7.  One smile can melt her daddy's heart.

Lola, you are our precious gift from God.  We are so very blessed to have two happy and healthy kids.  Our cup runneth over.

Groooovy Baby

Friday, October 30, 2009

Rudy and I went to a fabulous 70's themed Halloween Party tonight.  Tara knows how to throw a party!  Her decorations were groovy baby!  The James' went all out!  (wouldn't expect anything less).  Unfortunately, this mama wasn't feeling well so we ended up leaving early.  I guess I got a touch of whatever has been going around... cold, chills, fever... AWESOME!  Here is our one pic of the night!

I did decide after having to wear Spanx with my outfit that this mama is done being "over her weight".  Spanx are not my friend and I'm going to start working out now.  If my husband is reading this, Christy needs a treadmill.

Fall Festival

Thusday, October 29, 2009

Angelo had his fall festival at his school today.  They were supposed to be an animal from Noah's Ark.  Well, this mama waiting until the last minute and Mr. Angelo had to be a spider.  But he didn't seem to notice the difference!  He was the best Spider ever!  So cute!  I was there helping out with the pumpkin patch table.  It was so cute to see all the different classes and their cute costumes.  Angelo seems to really like his teachers and going to this school.  So glad!

Haunted House

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Decorating Haunted Houses is a little more tricky when  you add a two year old to the mix.  I think more icing got on him than the house.  He also ate a good amount of the candy instead of decorating the house.  But fun was had by all.  Here is our creation... Hope Daddy doesn't eat it!

Boo at the Zoo!!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

We headed out to Boo at the Zoo today at the Ft. Worth Zoo with my little Bumble bee and Dinosaur. This year Angelo enjoyed seeing the animals a lot more. We made sure to see as many as we could before they get put up for the night. So, we saw... the Gorillas, Hippos, Giraffes, Elephants, Owls, Zebras, Rhino, Tigers, Penguins, Lions... Oh My!  Then we did the trick or treating and games.  My sweet Aunt Sheila and cousin Kristal came with us for the festivities!  Can't do anything by myself!! LOL  I need HELP!  ALWAYS!
